Does Dogssup need a therapist?

"You need some serious counseling you sick piece of shit".

Counseling for what exactly? The DSM-IV clearly states zoophilia is not a mental illness. So in regards to counseling, there is actually nothing that can be done from a professional standpoint. The issue is nonexistent.

Maybe people who think there is something psychologically wrong with people who have loving sex with animals should read this book by Dr. Hani Miletski.

A lot of research is finally coming through about zoophilia. Some psychologists are coming to the idea that zoophilia is another possibility for sexual orientation. Just like being homosexual, bisexual, or heterosexual. I will post more updates about this in the future when I have more time.

There is nothing wrong with us. The Normals want to lead others into that sort of thinking. Closed minds are the opiates for the masses.

DSM-IV, page 576:

"302.9 - Paraphilia Not Otherwise Specified

This category is included for coding Paraphilias that do not meet this criteria for any specific categories. Examples include, but are not limited to, telephone scatalogia (obscene phone calls), necrophilia (corpses), partialism (exclusive focus on part of the body), zoophilia (animals), coprophilia (feces), klismaphilia (enemas), and urophilia (urine)."

Plenty of sexual practices are considered paraphilias. That does not make them morally wrong simply because they are grouped that way.

Again, you cite this because you think because it is mentioned that must mean there is something to be gained from therapy. Wrong! I have yet to meet a therapist who has anything significant to say about zoophilia. The main concerns they have are:

1) Is the animal being forced? If not, then the therapist doesn't care unless:

2) Do you feel guilty about having a sexual attraction to animals? If you don't then the therapy ends there. If yes,

3) The therapist works with you through this guilt. Some might try to "change" you buy by and large they may not agree with it personally, but from an academic and medical professional standpoint they have little negative to say about it.

You clearly have spent a lot of time thinking of excuses for your deplorable behavior. You should be ashamed of yourself. Just remember... what goes around, comes around. And I feel certain you will one day pay for your disgusting behaviors.

I don't buy the sexual orientation bit, but that's because I identify as gay *and* zoo, and I see both as orthogonal to each other.

I like males, I just don't get stuck up on species like most. :-)

As a counsellor and psychotherapist specialising in working with me ( menstherapy.co.uk ) I can agree that zoophilia is not a mental illness.
Counseling is not just about mental illness, and there are many things a counselor can help with, like coming to terms with zoo tastes, coping with stigmatization and isolation, and the repeated bereavement of lovers dieing.
If anybody feels the need to talk about these things there are counsellors out there who can help and wont judge you.
